Military on Parade.

I got my outside work did quicker then I thought so did some more military on parade.
Done Navy, Airforce, Army and Cadets. Just the Bands to do but that be next week .. I hope.

RoyalExamination9410 suggested rename this set to "Auz Herders and Parades" .. what you think about that? or maybe some one has another name to suit.

Yet to add to this set:
* People parading, protesting, running.
* Military Bands.
* Pigs
* Horses

Any other ideas you have let me know. I prefer NOT to add any vehicles.

Fixes needed:
The Stock Route does not cross or connect to all roads. So need some adjusting.

Here the updated game file with those military people. You will find some that only takes up one side of the road and some that hogs all the roads.

Yes, it surely needs a new name.
Definitely start with AUZ, to make it clear it's one of yours ;-)

Maybe also something that makes clear it has "vehicles" that have 3 and/or less (and/or no) wheels?
Maybe there is a nice English word for that in the Official Highway Code Book?
Or maybe something based on if it needs certain license plates (or that excludes vehicles with "normal" license plates)?
Or a certain drivers license...

And, could you please add a parameter to your road, that makes it possible to disable it?
For those that are already struggeling with the 64max roadtypes in a game :oops:

Not easy thing of a name to suit all I am adding. Maybe something will come to us soon.

Busy this weekend watching steam trains .. seen 2 today but they was very late so not get home as early as I hoped. Tomorrow and Sunday be long days leave home at 8 in morning and not get back till around 5 pm.

There is one in the Polish Roadset (GPLv2)
and two in the Real Cars (with extrazoom) set, but for that you may need to contact temporal8

Bikes and motorcycles are vehicles too ;-)
Maybe later you would also like to add some other "odd" vehicles, like mobility scooters ;-)
I think the main thing is that this set does not include Cars, Busses and Trucks, try to focus on that with thinking of the name.
The main thing I know is that for those vehicles you need a certain driverslicense...

Allthough to keep it simple, AuzNoCarsBussesTrucks.grf is good enough, isnt it?
Then you could still make AuzCarsBussesTrucks.grf too ;-)

Temporal8 motor bikes could be good too .. if your watch pal, any chance PM me the templates to your bikes :D

The set with 10 riders instead of some same colour could recolour so they all different, but hope leave the leader in CC colour so it will wear the same colour as players company.

Enjoy my 3 days watching steam trains and coming home buggered. Today feet and legs sore from a lot of standing and walking last 3 days so good excuse to work on this project some more. My next outing hope be Wednesday and Thursday.

I'll recolour some of those riders so they all be different.
What speed should they be at? I did have them at 25 but some say it a bit to fast for causal riders so I reduced it to 20.

Will finish plans I first mentioned and then look at motor bikes and anything else we can think of that look good walking, running or peddling on the roads.

I meant, that you could use those bicyclegraphics as motorcycles.
Maybe they look a bit like cross-country motorcycles.
And having them in the same colors (with emphasis on dark/black), maybe makes them look like they are from a club.

Trust me to get your idea mixed up. :lol:
They do look a lot like cross country bikes don't they .. so what speed should I give them? 100 km/h maybe :?:
The motor scooters from Polroad I think will look good too with a few together.

I re-coloured some of the bicycles so all a bit different.

Had a look at doing the crowd of people but they and the military bands going to take a while to do as need to make some from on and views of their behinds as well. Still worn out from the weekend to try working on those today.

Added Motor Bikes and Tandem Bicycle.

The Tandem Bike I coloured the bike so it will have your company colours .. be a bit like you have hired them and each time they go through a bus stop you will get a little bit of money as the can carry Passengers or Mail.
The Motor Bikes have a small group of 5 and a larger group of 10. Set speed to 100 but can make it higher if preferred. These also carry passengers or mail.

I've renamed the game file to "AuzRVAnimalsBikesAndPeople". Hope enough details so players will know it is a Road Vehicle set containing animals, bikes and people.

I just have the crowds to add and the military bands.

Also need to add a parameter so can choose if want the stock route. I've set the road sort to 62 to hope that will put it at the bottom of your road list if you have less then 62. If you have 62 or more it might replace one of the roads your using.

So can some one help me with how to make the parameter.

OK this jogged my imagination for one more... cargo bikes. Early ones can be pedal bikes with lowers speeds, newer ones can be electric with say double the speed?

Only problem is drawing them .. up to now everything I did is someone elses work :D
I will put my thinking cap on and see where I can steal cargo bikes from. I can use half of javelinnl bikes .. just the other part need to figure out

Your idea gave me another idea .. I could put a child on the back of a bike .. maybe do a family type bike set. Mumma, dadda and a kid or 2.

Ill try to explain it very simple, so some things may not be the correct way to name it, but hopefully it makes it clear to you what to do

There are 3 things you need to do:

1. Add some textstrings to your .lng file (that shows up, so you can make a decision)
2. Add the code for the parameter (at the beginning of your code)
3. Add where the parameter is active (in the item-part of the roadtype)

1.
Add this to your .lng file:

In this case I used name STOCKROUTE, up to you to rename that to something else if you add more parameters (or want to use a parameter in another GRF)

This will show up like this if you go to the parameter settings of your GRF (in this example I use two parameters, for roadtype Seawaterway and Canal, rather than StockRoute:

The first textstring shows up at the decision, the second one is additional text that you can see at the bottom.


2.
In your code you need to add something at the very beginning of your code, looks like this:

There you need to add something like this:

If you want to add more parameters, you need to change param 0 to param 1, 2,... maximum is param 63 (so 64 in total, including 0)
And offcourse change STOCKROUTE to something else ;-)

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO PLACE THIS PART OF THE PARAMETER-CODE BEFORE THE } AT THE END OF THE Define-GRF-block!!!
It has to be part of the Define-GRF-block


3.
Now we get to the action ;-)
Scroll down to the Define-item-block of your roadtype, looks something like this:

Place this line of code at the beginning of the Define-item-block:

If you want to add more parameters in a single GRF, then

What you now have done is that Roadtype StockRoute is standard active, and you can use a Parameter to disable it.

I just got out of bed so I will have my breaky and feed the brain then I will give this a try.

I think you mentioned to me many moons ago add a parameter to the beach road in my AuzBeachObjects and I forgot. So I will do that as well.

Yyyaaahhhooo .. it works. Now I can look at a second stock route with a single dirt track down the middle and then see if I can add a tractor and see if I can get it to go on the single road both directions.

Thans to Quast65 he has unintentionally given me another idea :roll:

I made a single dirt track and a tractor.

The idea is for the farm tractor to drive around the farm as a eye candy.

I think this be better if I put it in the AuzFarmObjects and then maybe add a few more farm machinery if I can find templates with 8 views.

Here the updated Herding Livestock.

Changes:

* The Stock Route can now be disabled in the parameters.
* If you like to keep the Stock Route in your game .. in parameters you can also turn off speed resrtictions.
* In parameters can also change the speed between MPH and KM/H.
* Motor Bikes added.
* Tandem Bikes added.

As mention last post I made a single farm road and eye candy tractor .. these have been added to AuzFarmObjects.

Problem Time:


When I first made the livestock to go on one side of the road I test both roads and worked fine.

When I made those that hog all the road and the Military Marching I then forget that this game is all optical allusion .. the ones that hog all the road they don't really .. they just like a tall vehicle. :oops: and I only tested them on UK roads .. forgot to test on US roads. :oops:

Got some testing to do see what can be done about it.

To have those hogging all the road I might need a US and a UK set and have them refer to different templates.
As Quast65 mentioned over in my Object Forum:
I would very strongly like to suggest that you dont mix up too much features within one single GRF...
So maybe I make a separate road set that contains. the Stock Route from this set and the Beach Road from the AuzBeachObjects and the Farm Track from AuzFarmObjects. Add a parameter to each road so you can disable those you will not use.

Have you counted how many roads you actually have (not counting the conveyor belts) all together in the various sets?
If they are less than 64, then why not put them all together in one GRF and have parameters for each road?
