RT3 is better IMO aswell. I really like the game, though I mostly used passenger services to earn my money I had a demo only I think. One map with USA and a Italian one
My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)
The key to cargo in RT3 is to join multiple cities together and do short hops (mostly). When you connect to a new city, check to see if some cargo is accepted at the stop after the next stop along the line.
By doing short hopes you more more money, more frequently than doing short hopes as you shop cargo from station to station along the route, until it reaches the point where the next point along isn't profitable.
But the key is to join cities together in one long track. Also, connect into stations controlled by your opponents where possible too.
On that USA Demo scenario for example, the two must have routes are Detroit to Toledo and Chicago to Minnisota. You'll usually find that the AI will join two tracks near by and its a case of waiting until you've got enough $$ and bonds to connect to them. Lansing is the main one to connect to from Detroit as it brings in a lot of cargo & when the AI use your track, you get a cut of the revenue from the line.
RT3 is a lot more of a challenge than OpenTTD, TTD itself or TTDPatch, that is for sure.
The only downside with RT3 is that you can't generate random scenarios as you can with TTD.
RT3 takes place in a real world, that makes it better

Well, I've already stopped playing RRT, even though I loved it for one week or so
My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)
well i dunno RRT3 is really better than RRT2 it's just somehow more fun to play and has only one thing that ttd still doesn't have - the ability to watch things upclose in nice 3d view.
RRT2 is not ineteresting for me it's like ttd with abit better gfx and weaker gameplay and has nothing that can make me choose it over ttd
