Post by SHADOW-XIII »

As befits the season of Advent, we have prepared an Advent calendar for you instead of our usual weekly updates. Every day you'll find a little surprise behind the calendar doors. Have fun and enjoy the Advent season!
so whats the hell is that ??:
... advent christmas screen !?!?!? COME ONE GUYS !! we are already in but moods because of curves and we wanna see more ... and you are serving this pieces of sh*t ? ... I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED NOW !!

Yes, Shadow has a point....

With all due respect to the programming staff, what we really want to see is not their bright shining faces, but the GAME. Also, key words here, "a little surprise behind the calendar doors." I.e., something we have not seen before.

Surely you haven't shown us ALL the vehicles and buildings you've created. Or, have you done any of the control interfaces yet? You must have a way to control and build trains too, if only for testing? You should be able to get 10 fresh, new images out of just this one paragraph.

That advent idea was cool, but the images behind it not
It only dissapoints people, you tease them and then they get nothing
It's like when you open your presents the day after Christmas

I understand your concerns, guys, but I think I should tell the same as I did recently in the german discussion board.

The advent calendar is not mainly intended to satisfy the hardcore group. You're are watching the progress of the game and talk/think about it in a very intense way. So of course you're much more interested to see some features, new vehicles, curves and so on ... rather than some joke pics of the team.

BUT ... since the start of the calendar we have more then doubled the hits on the homepage. And, what you can't know (and we almost couldn't believe at the first time, too), the section "team" and "From the studio" generates sometimes more hits than "Vehicles" or "Buildings". If you would make a chart "Most hits per section" the ranking would be: "News" (not really a surprise, it's the start page ;) ), "Screenshots" and "Team" or "From the studio".

What could this mean? There must be a lot of gamers out there, who are not so interested to know any detail of the game, but highly interested to see the guys behind the game. Honestly, that's a big surprise for us. And we would be glad, if wouldn't be that way, because we're not so eager to find our grinning faces in the internet ;)

Anyway, we have to try to satisfy both groups of interested people. That's not always easy, of course.

And it's an advent calendar! As I understand this, it's something with minor goodies to shorten the time until xmas :)

If I'm honest, I don't like these shooters as well. That's not my kind of games and entertainment.

I don't care about the sshots. I just hope the gameplay will be great.. that's all what matters. The graphics of ttd are also ugly. But we still play that game ;).

I totaly not agree, those graphics are still very good, even now compared to all those 'I can run on gazillion Hz graphic monster cards' games

Your right, but in this screenshot, you can see a slightly curved rail, which is an important factor to the gameplay.

Also the railway is closer to the road on the right side of the screenie than the left, so maybe there are diagonal tracks! 360 of them?
